CoolSculpting®

In the Greater Boston area, including Wellesley, Framingham, Natick, and other western suburbs of Boston, having areas of unwanted fat is practically a  universal frustration. But a CoolSculpting treatment at the office of Dr. Christopher Davidson may be precisely the solution that fits you best. Completely non-invasive, CoolSculpting uses the power of targeted low temperatures to freeze unwanted fat, stimulating a natural process that flushes away treated fat cells from the body. You may even resume your daily activities as soon as your appointment is over, and watch your results develop.

How CoolSculpting Works

CoolSculpting uses a proprietary, Harvard-created technology called cryolipolysis that’s based on the principle that fat cells freeze at higher temperatures than other types of cells, such as skin and muscle cells. This allows the CoolSculpting device to selectively destroy fat cells without harming other tissues. The cup-shaped CoolSculpting applicator head surrounds the fat you’d like to treat. It then freezes this area for between 35 and 45 minutes, maintaining a consistent temperature for the entire duration.

In the weeks following your treatment, your treated fat cells are flushed out of your body via natural metabolic processes.

How Much Does It Cost to Do CoolSculpting in Boston?

CoolSculpting treatment pricing is based on the area being treated and how many cycles are required to treat the area. Your actual procedure cost depends on the size and number of areas treated. During your initial consultation, we will offer you a written quote that reflects the details of your own procedure.

Who Is a Good Candidate for CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is best for men and women who are in generally good shape, but would like to reduce small areas of unwanted fat. It is not a weight loss procedure, so it is not recommended for people who are significantly overweight or obese. The CoolSculpting device can effectively reduce fat in the following areas of the body:

  • Abdomen
  • Flanks
  • Upper arms
  • Inner thighs
  • Outer thighs
  • Double chin

If you’re more concerned about cellulite on your thighs or buttocks than excess fat, minimally invasive Avéli cellulite treatment may be a better option for you.

Everyone in the office was amazing and very professional and made me feel very comfortable. I am so happy w/ my results and I couldn’t pick a better surgeon. Thank you, Dr. Davidson! I couldn’t be happier.” D.A.

Your Experience

CoolSculpting is a brief procedure that is administered right here in Dr. Davidson’s office. We prepare your skin with a pre-treatment wipe that helps to regulate the temperature of your skin and protect it from damage.

We then place the CoolSculpting applicator over the treatment area, and the device begins freezing the targeted fat. In order to be effective, the device needs to work for a specific amount of time—typically between 35 and 45 minutes.

During this time, you can relax, read, or browse the internet. Your treatment area becomes numb soon after treatment begins, so most patients find the experience quite comfortable.

After your appointment, you can expect to return to your normal daily activities immediately. Over the course of the next several weeks, you’ll notice your treated area beginning to shrink as the fat cells are flushed out of your body.

CoolSculpting FAQ

Q. How many CoolSculpting treatments do I need?

A. Most patients are satisfied with their results after 2 CoolSculpting treatments, while others only need 1. The number of treatments you’ll need to achieve optimal results depends on the area you’d like to treat. After the results of your first treatment have developed, you may choose to undergo an additional treatment to further refine your body.

Q. How long will my CoolSculpting results last?

A. CoolSculpting destroys fat cells, and because your body no longer generates new fat cells, your results should last as long as you maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle.

Q. How do I know if CoolSculpting or liposuction is the better option for me?

A. CoolSculpting is ideal for reducing small, localized areas of fat from particular treatment areas. Liposuction, on the other hand, can be used to refine the results of another body contouring procedure or to remove larger volumes of fat than CoolSculpting alone can. If you wish to reduce the fat under your chin, you may also be a candidate for treatment with injectable KYBELLA®.

For patients with loose skin on their abdomen, a tummy tuck may be the best option. CoolSculpting removes pockets of pinchable fat from the abdomen but does not tighten skin.
