This is an ideal surgery for children who may have experienced the emotional stress of being teased. Most ear pinning surgeries are performed on children between the ages of four and 14. Since ears are almost fully developed by age four, the earlier the surgery, the less teasing a child will have to endure. If you, however, are an adult and have had enough teasing for a lifetime, ear pinning is also ideal for you and there are no additional risks associated with your age.
