Breast Uplift Cosmetic Surgery
In Boston, Massachusetts.
(Mastopexy)
As you age, your skin naturally loses elasticity making your breasts more likely to sag. A combination of gravity, pregnancy, and nursing will accelerate the process, but sagging breasts do not have to be your permanent fate. A breast lift procedure will reverse the trend and enhance the shape of your breasts giving you a more youthful contour and appearance.
The incisions you will need depend upon the amount of
droop and excess skin. Regardless of the size of your breasts and the
amount of sagging, Dr. Davidson has an entire arsenal of procedures he
can use to give you the very best results you could imagine. A breast
lift can also be combined with a breast augmentation using breast
implants to increase the size of your breasts, round their shape, and give you
additional
upper
breast fullness. This procedure is done under anesthesia, usually on
an outpatient basis, either in our office operating suite or at the hospital.
Breast Uplift Recovery
Breast uplift recovery will vary from patient to patient, and depends upon the extent of the procedure you have. We encourage you to wear a sports bra, or similarly supportive bra without underwires, for four to six weeks following surgery.
During the first week after surgery, your breasts and the surrounding area will be swollen and may appear high. This is completely normal. Any swelling and temporary numbness will resolve gradually and you can expect bruising to resolve within seven to ten days as well. The results will continue to improve over time, creating a more natural appearance as the swelling diminishes and your incisions smooth and fade.
You can usually expect to return to work within four to five days after surgery but we recommend you wait several weeks before resuming any non-impact lower body exercise. You can do impact exercises four weeks after surgery, but should wait six weeks before you do any upper body exercise. |
